Ju-Jitsu is a traditional martial art dating back thousands of years. The techniques used in Ju-Jitsu are tried and tested over centuries of battles and wars. It was formed and perfected by the Japanese Samaria warriors and little has change in its effectiveness as a modern day martial art
Ju-Jitsu is made up of simple, effective techniques that use the opponent's momentum and body weight for the advantage. Ju-Jitsu is a complete martial art in the fact that it teaches all aspects of combat, which include stand up fighting or sparring, throwing or judo randory and grappling which is when an opponent is taken to the ground to fight.
Ju-jitsu has a grading syllabus to follow where a coloured belt can be attained to show the ranking. There are 10 kyu grades or belts to work through before attaining the black belt or Dan grade. The Dan grades are then counted in numbers so 1st Dan, 2nd Dan etc
This class a traditional white Gi is worn and respect to Dan grades and the dojo is shown by a rei or bow as the class starts and upon entering the dojo.
